Nightstop Devon is a project for homeless young people aged 16-25 years. If you have nowhere to sleep tonight, we might be able to help. Nightstops are provided in volunteers’ houses. You will get a room of your own, an evening meal and breakfast, a shower or bath and the chance to do some laundry, as well as a friendly welcome! You can stay on Nightstop for a week or two (as long as we’ve got hosts available, while we help you look for somewhere longer term.
•Nightstop is for anyone in Exeter, East Devon, Mid Devon or Teignbridge who is 16-25 and has nowhere to sleep.
• The only time we turn someone down for Nightstop is if they – are under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time or are acting aggresively or have a history of serious violent crime or are currently suffering from a serious mental illness. We also can’t accept anyone who is absconding from custody or care.
I FEEL WEIRD ABOUT GOING INTO SOMEONE’S HOUSE!
It’s normal for people to be nervous before their first Nightstop. It’s a bit weird spending the evening with people you’ve never met before. All our hosts are friendly and welcoming, they wouldn’t be doing it if they weren’t. Here are some quotes from some of the hundreds of people who have stayed on Nightstop in the past… If you’re not sure, then give us a call to have a chat about it or download the info postcard below.Volunteer for us Meet our young people
